DeVita Havanese located on two acres in Greenwich, Ct. and has been involved with the Havanese since obtaining our first in 2001. This wonderful bitch became an overnight Champion going undefeated in just a few weekends and became American Champion Forsgate's Margarita Rose who went on to win the Best of Breed at the 2002 acclaimed Westminster Dog Show at 18 months of age.

Ruthellen Viall handled Margarita Rose at the Westminster and with her many years of experience proceeded to mentor me and continues to do so now. Thanks goes out to Lonnie Raia of Forsgates Havanese who bred Margarita Rose and who became the foundation bitch to the DeVita line.

The goal of DeVita Havanese is to breed discriminatingly only using Champion stock who have passed their health tests and are conformationally correct with outstanding movement and have the unique expression that makes a Havanese a Havanese.

The Havanese needs lots of human companionship and we work diligently to see that each and every pup gets a tremendous amount of socialization and affection. The entire family joins in to rear each litter and to keep our dogs an integral part of our family. We recently relocated to a more dog friendly home with 2,000 square feet dog floor allowing the dogs access to our family room and office with free access to one of three fenced in dog yards.

Together with trusted friends and exclusive Handlers Courtney Norris and Ruthellen Viall we hope to move forward continuing to breed with a plan asking no bitch to produce more than three litters with the goal being to better our breed type, putting each dogs needs first and foremost and making sure we never lose site of the fascinating, unique and loving breed, Havanese.
